Samsung has unveiled its priciest phone yet

Samsung showed two new foldable phones, including the priciest one to date, with flexible glass that folds along the center of the screen.

During its Unpacked event on Wednesday, the Korean tech giant unveiled a number of new products, including the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

With a redesigned taskbar down the bottom of the phone and 1TB of storage, it offers a "PC-like experience" where users can quickly access their apps, albeit at a hefty £2019 cost.

Samsung also debuted the Galaxy Z Flip 4, which, when compared to the Flip model from the previous year, has smaller bezels and a slimmer hinge for a perfect shape and better grip. It opens like an old phone from the 1990s thanks to a horizontal hinge in the middle of the screen. Samsung.

The price of both smartphone models ranges from £999 for 125 GB storage to £1,199 for 512GB storage. Both smartphones support 5G, are IPX8 water resistant, and can be folded and opened more than 200,000 times.

According to Paolo Pescatore, an analyst at PP Foresight, the new Fold and Flip models only have "incremental upgrades" over the devices from the previous year.

With a horizontal hinge along the middle and two screens—a bigger internal panel that acts like a tablet and a smaller external screen that shows important information when folded—it essentially doubles as a 2-in-1.

The Fold 4's internal screen is 7.6 inches diagonally, the same as the one on the Fold 3, which was unveiled last year, and features a significantly improved camera and the triple-camera system featured in Samsung's flagship S22.

Regarding the cost, it is true that it varies with storage capacity, but it starts at £ 1649 for 256 GB and goes up to $ 2019 for 1 TB.

The Fold 4 also has lower bezels, which results in greater screen real estate while maintaining the same overall size as the Fold 3.

Samsung stated that the Fold 4 plays films for a longer period of time and lasts longer on a single charge. Additionally, the S-Pen, which is offered separately, is compatible with it.
